THIS HOTEL DESERVES 10 STARS - PERFECTION !
This hotel deserves a 10 star rating. Led by a quite brilliant manager, Tanya Johnson, who knows how to make guests (us) feel like Royalty, her team of Langdon, Masssimo and the fabulous Chefs, waiters, waitresses, housekeeping and porters etc make our stay for the last 11 years absolutely fantastic. The staff are beautifully trained so that everything runs like clockwork and we want for nothing, I must mention the fabulous chef whose menu and cooking are exceptional. The food is imaginative and delicious and beautifully presented. The Chef offered to make anything we would like and giving him notice he has done so. I want to mention by name, the lovely waiters and waitresses whose service is immaculate and every single member of staff calls us by name - I would like to commend, Honourine and Bo (both quite rightly recently promoted), Quiet, Nellie, Jo Anne and Sephora who gave us such lovely service (and I apologise for not mentioning anyone else who gave us such good service). Our beautiful Villa is our home from home and is immaculate and cleaned to the highest of standards. The Hotel is a jewel in the Crown and although we stay for 8 nights it is never long enough We can only look forward to our 12th visit in February 2027 and say ‘THANK YOU’ for all you do for us to make our stay so enjoyable."

Everything. This is our second stay here and the quality and service is a brilliant 2 years later! You will not be disappointed if you book this property. It is our best of 10 where we have stayed in the western cape

A Relaxing Retreat with Timeless Charm
Set within award-winning gardens, this historic hotel offers a truly relaxing and restorative stay. From the moment you arrive, there’s a wonderful energy created by the amazing staff — friendly, professional, helpful, and genuinely kind. Their warmth sets the tone for the entire experience. The restaurant serves wonderful food, beautifully presented, and the décor and overall aesthetic of the hotel are simply fabulous — elegant yet welcoming. There’s also a lovely gift shop that’s well worth a browse. With two inviting pools, there’s plenty of space to unwind, but the absolute highlight is afternoon tea — a delicious treat with the most delightful “yummy” scones and all the traditional accompaniments. A charming stay in a beautiful setting — highly recommended.

Simply the best!
The Cellars is a wonderful hotel with truly outstanding staff. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special! Bed was super comfortable and we never heard a single noise on any night of our 5 night stay. Breakfast was outstanding in terms both of quality and quantity. On a slightly less positive note we found the evening menu rather restrictive. Courtesy car provided to the V & A and a couple of local attractions. If you wish to be spoiled, choose the Cellars when visiting Cape Town !

Beautiful Hotel, magnificent staff, wonderful gardens and excellent amenities.
Beautiful Hotel in exceptional setting. 9 Acres of stunningly well kept gardens, two swimming pools, well attended by Victor in particular. All staff very friendly, efficient, courteous and highly trained. Lovely restaurant and dining area decorated with lovely fabrics. We were particularly impressed that we were allowed to check in early as we were only hoping to drop our luggage off as we had to return our rental car early in the day, but as our room was ready, we were allowed to use it well before official check in time - well done for that.

- • Unfortunately we had a very poor meal in the restaurant on our first night. Maybe we got a stand in chef as anecdotally we had heard good things about the food there, but on this occasion, the quality of both our meals fell way short of expectations - real shame! Subsequently, we had a lunch time meal and this was absolutely fine.
Total relaxation
